Simon Says

Driving home from Target today, I started singing "Bye Bye Miss American Pie." Not thinking of my cute little question-asker, I belted out "Good 'ol boys drinking whiskey and rye..." I caught myself before I got to "This'll be the day that I die." We all know where that would lead...

But I stopped myself one line too late.

"Mom? What's whiskey?"

"A drink that grown-ups drink sometimes."

"I had whiskey when I was just a little kid."

"You did? Where?"

"At a restaurant. The restaurant man gave me some."

"How was it?"

"It was pretty good, but it was a little spicy."

Hmmmm......

This reminds me of when Emma was smaller she used to say, "Back when I was a grownup..." all the time. Maybe that Benjamin Button thing is real?
