Simon Says

I was going running* the other day, and being that it's hot and we're in the middle of nowhere, only around my relatives, I came out of the house wearing shorts and a sports bra. I pretty much look like I've had two babies, but pretty good considering. At least, that's how I thought I looked. Simon said,

"You look nice Mom."

Then, he touched my belly and said, "Why do you have stuff hanging out?"

Ouchie.

*I use the term running loosely, as I am still very much out of shape. By "run" I mean that I jog for a while before I dissolve into a panting heap and have to start walking. I go back and forth like that for a while. I call it "intervals" and convince myself that I'm on the cutting edge of fitness.

hah. you crack me up. your sense of humor keeps me hoping we'll be travel buddies in Rwanda--I think our families would have fun together. the silence in Kigali is killing me...I'm sure other people are learning good spiritual lessons but I'm mostly learning how to press "send/receive" and stalk peoples' blogs for any relevant information.

This story makes me laugh...it also makes me feel like I might be "normal" after having two kids! Thanks for your honesty!

I love "stuff hanging out." I have so much more than "stuff" right now...I could easily house another baby with the leftovers from the last one.

You are bringing a much needed smile to my face ...

That "stuff hanging out" ?? I always tell my kids its God's way of giving me something to always remind me that I have amazing kiddos ...

Love your reasoning behind running intervals. .. hey ... anything you're doing is better than nothin' .. and at least you're lacing up those shoes!

Hi Susie! I am one of Scott and Barb's friends (and John and Christina's) friends from Gordon. I just wanted to say that I love your blog! You seem like such a great mother and I love your writing. Barb says that we have a lot in common in terms of parenting...I have a little boy who just turned one on Sunday! Anyways, I just wanted to say hi so that I'm not a total blog stalker!
