Imagination

It's no secret that Simon's one true love in life is Minnie Mouse. Which is why I was surprised when Daisy moved in yesterday. That's right. All day long, Minnie and Daisy accompanied us everywhere we went. On some outings, Minnie had to stay home to be with Mickey but Daisy came with us.

Daisy was sad because she couldn't find her Mommy & Daddy. They were at the hospital having a baby (Yes, those are my son's abandonment issues from 7 months ago resurfacing). We had to call the Imagination Movers to see if they had any ideas on how to help.

Sometimes, this worked to my advantage. Like when I could tell him that Mommy was too busy/tired to play tag, but that Daisy wanted to play. I watched him chase invisible Daisy around the living room. I also watched them play in the "pool" together, after I "filled it with water."

There were other times when this did not work to my advantage. Like every time we had to get in and out of the car in the freezing cold and Simon had to climb into the way back to "unbuckle" Daisy and help her out of the car.

When I was on the phone with my mom, I looked in the back seat and saw Simon having a conversation on a pretend phone. It turns out that Daisy had a bump on her leg, and so Simon called Pop-Pop and Pop-Pop told him to pray and that Jesus would make it all better.

Daisy is still with us today, but she is waiting in the car because she is apparently too sick to go to childcare. Simon, however, went to the dreaded childcare without a peep or complaint - first time ever - so I feel that Daisy must be a good influence, and she is more than welcome to be a part of my son's life.
